CLIMATE ACTIVE CERTIFICATION IN AUSTRALIA

Why should your business consider Climate Active certification? 

The short answer is transparency and credibility. Achieving this certification gives you recognition and credibility in the market and sends a positive signal to your clients, suppliers and stakeholders that you are committed to sustainability.

Climate Active is ‘a collective action to drive impact’. It is a voluntary government-backed program to support national climate policy by driving action in Australian businesses. The globally recognised Climate Active Carbon Neutral Standard is underpinned by carbon accounting and credible carbon offset programs.

By working with an authorised certifier like 2XE, any Australian business can become Climate Active, for their whole organisation or specific products or services, events, buildings, or precincts. You must meet the requirements of the Climate Active Carbon Neutral Standard.

To achieve this certification, you must first measure your emissions, identify ways to reduce these, and then offset your remaining emissions through quality and credible offset programs. Publicly reporting your achievements is also required; however, here at 2XE, we always recommend sharing your achievements with your value chain as it encourages them to do the same and creates more momentum for positive change.

The process to achieve Climate Active certification is clearly outlined on the Climate Active website . Once you have entered into the license agreement, 2XE can help you to calculate your emissions, develop an emissions reduction strategy, and support your purchase of carbon offsets. As your partner in this side of the process, we will then help you with your independent validation (we cannot verify our own work!).
